Amp now offers experimental, ad-supported credits that replenish hourly, up to $10/day (≈$300/month), giving free access to its full platform. Included are Smart (Opus 4.5 with GPT-5/Gemini-3 subagents) and Rush (Haiku 4.5) modes; ads are text-only and opt-out is available.

Amp introduces free ad-supported credits for daily use

Amp has rolled out a new ad-supported credit program that provides daily free access to its full platform, including the flagship smart agent powered by Opus 4.5. The program is experimental and funded by text-only ads; opting out of ads is possible in exchange for paid credits.

How the free credits work

The grant replenishes hourly, capping at $10 of credits per day (roughly $300 per month). When the free allotment is exhausted, the hourly reset restores credits; alternatively, paid credits remain available for purchase. The company frames the initiative as an experiment and notes that indefinite availability cannot be guaranteed.

AI modes: Smart and Rush

Amp exposes two primary inference modes:

  • Smart — driven by Opus 4.5, with integrated subagents powered by GPT-5 and Gemini-3, including the oracle and librarian components (see the oracle and librarian docs linked below). This mode targets higher-fidelity, multipronged reasoning.
  • Rush — uses Haiku 4.5 to deliver faster inference at a lower cost per token, suitable for latency-sensitive or cost-conscious workloads.

Both modes are available under the free-credit program.

Ads, opt-out, and partners

Ads are limited to text and are explicitly stated not to influence Amp’s responses. If ad-supported credits are undesired, opting out shifts usage to paid credits. The initiative has been deployed to a beta cohort with support from ad partners; organizations interested in participating as ad partners can apply.
