ClaudeDevs has announced that Claude Haiku 5.5 is available through the Claude Platform and Claude Code. The developer account claims the model costs about 75% less to run than Haiku 4.5 on average, and positions it for high-volume tasks such as summaries, compactions, and database queries.
Pricing depends on prompt length
For prompts below 100,000 tokens, Haiku 5.5 is priced at:
- $0.10 per million input tokens
- $0.50 per million output tokens
- $0.01 per million tokens for cache reads
For prompts above 100,000 tokens, the listed rates increase to:
- $0.50 per million input tokens
- $2.50 per million output tokens
- $0.05 per million tokens for cache reads
ClaudeDevs also states that Haiku 5.5 can work as a subagent alongside Opus 5.5 or Sonnet 5.5. The announcement does not provide further detail on how those model combinations are evaluated or configured.
API credits for Max and Team plans
ClaudeDevs is also rolling out monthly Claude Platform API credits for Max and Team subscribers. The stated allocations are:
- Max 5x: $100 per month
- Max 20x: $200 per month
- Team: up to $500 per month, pooled across the plan
The credits can be used with any model, including Haiku 5.5, in code or third-party harnesses. ClaudeDevs links to additional details and terms, but the post does not list further eligibility or usage conditions.
The announcement drew several reactions focused on the new credits, including one post describing the rollout as effectively returning subscription value through monthly API spending. A promotional graphic associated with the posts features the Claude logo alongside the text “$500 API CREDITS.”
