Cline 3.55 Adds Arcee Trinity, Kimi K2.5 and GPT-5 OAuth

Cline 3.55 brings Arcee Trinity Large — a US-built 400B-parameter MoE running 13B active params with 128K context — and Kimi K2.5, a 1T-parameter multimodal MoE with 256K context and agent-swarm orchestration. The update also adds ChatGPT Plus/Pro OAuth for GPT-5.

TL;DR

The Cline 3.55 release adds two substantial open-weight models and expands subscription integration, giving development workflows more open-source options alongside closed APIs.

Arcee Trinity Large: a US-built, open-weight option

Arcee Trinity Large arrives in Cline's free tier. The model is a 400-billion-parameter mixture-of-experts released under Apache 2.0 and noted as US-built, which matters for teams with compliance constraints. At inference time Trinity runs with 13 billion active parameters, offering the performance characteristics of a much larger model while lowering compute needs. The training run was conducted on Nvidia Blackwell B300 hardware, and Trinity supports 128K context, making it suitable for sizeable codebases and long-form prompts. Early published benchmarks include MMLU Pro: 82 and GPQA Diamonds: 75. More on Arcee is available at the project site: https://www.arcee.ai/?ref=cline.ghost.io.

Kimi K2.5: multimodal, agentic, and competitive

Moonshot AI’s Kimi K2.5 is a 1-trillion-parameter MoE with 256K context and full multimodal support. Benchmarks show notable parity with leading closed models: Humanity’s Last Exam: 50.2% (with tools), surpassing GPT-5.2 and Opus 4.5 on that metric, while SWE-bench Verified: 76.8% sits close to GPT-5.2 and Opus 4.5. K2.5’s differentiators are practical: strong visual coding and frontend capabilities (screenshot-to-UI generation, layout/interaction/animation handling), the ability to visually inspect rendered output and iterate on code, and agent swarm orchestration that coordinates up to 100 sub-agents and executes parallel workflows with as many as 1,500 tool calls.

Steps to select Kimi K2.5 in Cline:

  1. Open Cline settings.
  2. Select the Cline provider.
  3. Choose Moonshot/Kimi-K2.5 from the model list.

Other changes in 3.55

  • ChatGPT subscription integration was added: ChatGPT Plus and Pro subscribers can use GPT-5 models via OAuth inside Cline without an API key or per-token billing.
  • Free promotions for Grok Code Fast 1 and Devstral have ended; both models are moving to paid tiers. Arcee Trinity Large is presented as a free alternative in the release notes.
