Warp consolidates paid plans into a single usage-based Build subscription
Warp is simplifying its paid tiers into one usage-based plan called Build, priced at $20 per month and including 1,500 AI credits. Legacy paid tiers (Pro, Turbo, Lightspeed) will be deprecated, and the Business plan is being updated to mirror Build at $50 per user per month, now with SSO and ZDR. Changes apply immediately to new customers and take effect for existing subscribers on their first renewal after December 1, 2025.
What’s changing, at a glance
- Build becomes the single consumer plan: $20/month with 1,500 AI credits.
- Legacy plans (Pro, Turbo, Lightspeed) are deprecated and will transition at renewal.
- Business updated to $50/user/month, with SSO, ZDR, and team management features.
- Bring-your-own API key (BYOK) available on Build and Business for OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google models.
- Overages are replaced with Reload credits — roughly 50% cheaper than prior pay-as-you-go rates, and they roll over month-to-month for up to 12 months.
Build: the usage-based plan
The Build plan bundles developer-facing limits and AI capacity:
- 1,500 monthly AI credits usable across supported models.
- BYOK support for OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google models.
- Access to Reload credit purchases with volume discounts.
- Unlimited Warp Drive objects and collaboration.
- Highest codebase indexing limits (up to 40 repositories with 100,000 files each).

BYOK: what it enables and what to expect
BYOK answers frequent requests from developers who already pay model providers directly. On Build, API keys for OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google can be added in Settings > AI; model-provider billing is direct to the key owner. Important caveats from the announcement:
- Warp does not control model-provider privacy or training settings.
- Active AI features such as prompt suggestions and codebase indexing will continue to function but will not consume the personal API key; Warp covers those costs itself.

Reload credits replace overages
Reload credits are a prepaid alternative to prior overages:
- Purchases available on-demand or via auto-reload.
- Buy in increments of $10, $20, $50, $100; larger purchases are discounted.
- About 50% cheaper per thousand credits compared to legacy overage rates.
- Reload credits roll over month-to-month and remain valid for 12 months.
- Team admins can manage reload settings in Settings > Billing and usage.
Business plan updates
The updated Business plan aligns with Build and adds administrative controls:
- $50 per user per month, with 1,500 monthly AI credits per user (these per-user credits do not roll over).
- Shared Reload credits usable across the team, rolling over for 12 months.
- BYOK for individual users, SSO, and enforced ZDR.
- Self-serve billing (credit card only) and team size limit up to 50 members. For enterprise buyers, existing enterprise plans are unchanged; sales support is available at https://www.warp.dev/contact-sales
Key FAQs and operational details
- New logged-in users receive 150 AI credits per month for the first two months, then 75/month afterward.
- Terminal features remain free across Windows, Mac, and Linux.
- For existing monthly and annual subscribers, the new plans take effect on renewal after December 1, 2025.
- BYOK is not available on the Free plan.
- Auto-reload default monthly spend limits: new users start at $200, and existing users who enable auto-reload inherit prior overage limits or default to $200.
