Claude on Wednesday introduced Claude Design, a beta feature on paid plans for web and desktop that the company claims can stay "on brand" with a design system, allow direct canvas editing, and sync with Claude Code in both directions.
According to Claude’s posts, the tool can import a design system from a repo, design files, or a codebase, then build with "real components" and check output against the system before it is shown. The company also states that the redesigned editor is steadier for daily work and that new layout controls let users drag, resize, and align elements on the canvas.
Promotional material attached to the launch shows a project titled "Playground Crowdfunding Page," with tabs labeled "Simple," "Pro," and "Code," plus controls for "Edit," "Discard," and "Save." The mockup also includes typography settings, a canvas for a "Maple Grove Park" playground fundraiser, and a terminal prompt suggesting a /design-sync command from Claude Code.
Claude also claims the feature can export to PDF and PowerPoint and connect to other tools already in use. In the same thread, the company mentioned that Claude Design is "in beta on all paid plans" and rolling out on web and desktop.
