ChatGPT Voice lands on desktop with computer control, agents

OpenAI has just rolled out ChatGPT Voice in its desktop app, bringing hands-free control and multi-agent direction via GPT-Live. It’s launching globally on macOS and Windows for paid plans, with iOS Codex support and Android “coming soon.”

OpenAI announced on X that "ChatGPT Voice is now in the desktop app," adding that the feature can "control your computer" and direct multiple agents in ChatGPT Work or Codex using voice. The company describes the system as powered by GPT-Live, which it says can "speak, listen, and coordinate work in the app at the same time."

According to the post, the rollout is starting globally today on macOS and Windows for Plus, Pro, Business, Edu, and Enterprise plans. OpenAI later added that ChatGPT Voice can also be used in Codex from the iOS app with paired remote access, and that Android support is "coming soon."
